Little 'O' Man

Born on August the 29th at 6:05 am, weiging in at a whopping 8 lbs and 5 ozs, Olin came to us by way of open adoption (www.adoptionhelp.org). We feel pretty lucky to have been selected as Olin's parents by a wonderful young couple from Georgia (thank you B & D).

STANDING!

Arrgh, I'm so far behind. For those of you keeping up (C..I'm looking at you), many apologies for the post dated posts.

So...the big news is that the little guy stood up all by himself in late April. The attached photo is of him in the crib looking quite proud of himself. The thing is, when we first witnessed it (the night before this photo was taken) he seemed to do it rather easily. Makes one wonder what's been going on in that crib at night.

FINALLY!

Well, the big day (4/20) is here. The little guy is finally...well, final (little play on words here as they call the end of the adoption process finalization). We had an afternoon appointment at the courthouse to see the judge. The actual proceeding took less than 15 min. but we ended up waiting outside the room for a good 30 min. Good thing there were several other families waiting with us! The place was littered with balloons and tippy cups and, much to the humor of the adults present, a group of the older kids organized a couple of good games of tag. All of the children playing together in the courthouse waiting area was a funny sight as the space is usually reserved for jurors.

Following the courthouse visit, in Olin's honor we hosted a small party at our home. Everyone seemed to really have a great time!
