HAPPY BIRTHDAY

If you believe the car, it was 113 degrees outside today. And yeah, for the record, I believe the car. OOOH man was it HOT. How does one celebrate a birthday on such a warm day? A cake is out of the question, right? We decided to forgo the party, after all, we had one in Georgia a few weeks back, and head to the water park. He enjoyed the wading pool and water slides, but I truly believe the taste of his first hot dog was the highlight of the day.

LET HIM EAT CAKE

We went back to Georgia to visit Olin's Birth-mom and dad to honor the 1 year anniversary of his birth and their difficult decision. Our families flew in for the event so we rented the same cottage on the lake that we stayed in while we were awaiting Olin's birth and the subsequent permission necessary from the State of Georgia to fly home with him after he was born. It was emotional to say the least. I think we all felt a sense of anxiety leading up to the event but I can honestly say it was heart warming to see Olin with his birth-mom and dad and to know that they were still very confident in their decision(s). We can still only marvel at the strength that must have taken and are truly honored to be so blessed by them.

The photo is a happy one to honor the occasion. We celebrated his one year birthday a bit early since family was convened in such a tranquil location. Special thanks to Will and Linda. We still love your Cozy Lake Cottage.
