HAPPY NEW YEAR

We flew to Kentucky on Christmas Day to celebrate the holiday. It was a pleasant trip that was slightly marred by the fact that all three of us contracted some dreaded stomach bug. My poor mother! I need to remember to send her a really nice thank you for taking care of three invalids, but I digress.

We had to postpone our flight home until New Year's eve due to the severity of the illness (no joke). In the current fashion of all airline travel, the return flight was pushed back, and then pushed back again...and again...and again. I snapped this shot of Ray and O with my phone at about 8:00 PM in the Cincinnati Airport before we caught a plane to Chicago in hopes of proceeding on to SFO.

Having caught the last flight out of O'Hare for the evening, we finally landed at SFO around 1:30 am. Returning home at 3:00 AM. It made for a long and tiring New Year, but we were so glad to be home, it remained a happy one. Special thanks to American for bumping us up to 1st class. The champagne at midnight somewhere over Colorado made all the difference.
